when i was reading this i thought a lot about how people really do see basic shapes.  we don't need all kinds of detail in order to recognize an object.

i thought of type too.  you know the thing floating around the internet that just has the first and the last letters of a word and all the other letters scrambled inside the word, but it's still legible. 

ie. grifafe  you can still recognize it as giraffe.  :)

Bitmap vs. Vector

Bitmap:

Pros-good for photos, when scaled down, the image gains/loses pixels in order to keep quality,

Cons- when scaled up, the image becomes diluted,

Vector:

Pros-easier to see sharp edges, will not lose quality because it's nothing but points and lines,

Cons-images must remain simple,

I'm going to vector my images, because they don't have a lot of detail.

select image w/ direct tool:  go to transform on the right side of indesign. and you can change the size of your selected image.

 if not on sidebar go to window, object layout, align.

abstract- extremely reduced; form; almost completely unrecognizable without knowing word.
