keep working on that flashback/dream idea toward the end. don't be afraid to go to extremes in the timing to make your point. if you need more time with a black screen, take it if it makes the point clear. alternately, if you need to repeatedly flash the blurry hand to say "terrifying dream" or whatever -- do it.
you just have to try some alternate scenarios and see how the timing and image sequencing changes the meaning.
