After crit.

I did intend to make an interactive book for a younger audience, but that will not work out real well considering my conversation was about a lime twist. I am still planning on creating an interactive book. However this one will be addressed to an older crowd.

Beginning of class.

process

Alcohol poisoning is a serious — and sometimes deadly — consequence of consuming large amounts of alcohol in a short period of time. Drinking too much too quickly can affect your breathing, heart rate and gag reflex and potentially lead to coma and death.

To some college students, heavy drinking that leads to vomiting is not alcohol abuse but simply having a good time and being "one of the gang."

To many whose religion requires abstinence, simply tasting an alcohol beverage is not only alcohol abuse but a sin.

To many activists, a married couple quietly enjoying a drink with their dinner is guilty of abusing alcohol if they happen to be twenty years of age.

To the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an accident is alcohol related (and implicitly caused by alcohol abuse) if a driver who has consumed a drink is sitting at a red light and rear-ended by an inattentive teetotaler.

Social drinking is common and popular is many cultures all over the world. In several cultures, for example, a glass of wine or beer with a meal is common practice. Celebrations are often punctuated with a glass of champagne or other celebratory cocktail. And in many jobs, going out for drinks after work or entertaining clients with alcohol is the norm.

The difference between social drinking and alcohol abuse is when alcohol becomes your focus. You might only want to attend social events that involve alcohol, or you can’t enjoy yourself. Getting to the bar, or making a drink after coming home from work becomes more important than connecting with friends or family. Alcohol might be your way to avoid painful feelings or troubled relationships. And you might resort to dangerous behavior, like driving while drunk or even increased violent behavior. Increased dependence on alcohol leads to alcoholism, where you are physically dependant on alcohol and have lost control of the amount you drink.

by Connor

Connor's feedback was not really what I was trying to say, but he noticed a few of my design decisions that I saw as positive, but he took them as negative. The experiences and backgrounds of us both gave us different responses. For example, when I put the not-so-colorful lime twist on a white background with odd colors in the corners, I was trying to show the dreamlike trance someone would get after having a couple of drinks. Connor saw the blue in the top right corner as sickness, which is understandable. Now, I'm going to take his feedback and nix the positive, dreamlike idea and go with the disgusting, sickly, drunk idea.
The noise that i believe he picked up was the "prejudice of the viewer" noise. I'm not saying Connor can not understand my point of view, but we both have separate interpretations of my photo.
